Mohamed Abdel-Halim Ahmed Nur el-Din, the Egyptian Egyptologist and Demotist, (01.07.1943 – 16.11.2016)

In 1986 became a tenured Professor of Egyptology in the
partment of Egyptology, Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University.
In 1988, he was pointed Director of the Museums Sector in the Egyptian Antiquities Organization (EAO)
from 1989 to 1993 he was the Vice-dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University
and from 1993 to 1996 the Chairman of the Egyptian Antiquities Organization (EAO)
and the First General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) in the Ministry of Culture.
In 1996, he returned to Cairo University, where he was appointed Chairperson
Prof. Dr.M.A. Nur El Din as Chairman of the Egyptian Antiquities Organization (EAO) with archaeologist Liana Souvaltzi at El Maraki, Siwa Oasis
